Atiku Optimistic of PDP Presidential Ticket

 

 

The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has shown his confidence of being the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the coming 2023 presidential election.

He showed his confidence while feeding question from journalists in Abeokuta during his visit to his former boss Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his penthouse in Olusegun Obasanjo Presdiential  Library (OOPL) Abeokuta Ogun state capital state.

Meanwhile,Atiku was the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) in 2019,but also made it known that the electoral field is also opened to the younger one to “compete,” however, expressed the confidence that he will get the PDP ticket for  2023 Presidential race.

Atiku Abubakar  encouraged Nigerian youths to compete with elders for elective offices in 2023, including the office of the President, instead of seeking to deny the old ones the constitutional rights to pursue their Presidential ambition.

The Waziri Adamawa spoke while fileding questions from reporters after a closed door meeting with his ex – boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in his Penthouse w Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The ex – Vice President who arrived OOPL at 10.10a.m. went into a private meeting with his host, saying ‘I came to see my boss.’

He was silent on what he discussed with Obasanjo during the about an hour long meeting.

” I came to meet my boss. We will let you know when I declared, we will give a formal announcement. Asked if he is sure of getting the party’s presidential ticket,

“Have I ever failed to get the ticket?Let the youths compete with the elders. It is competition. It is democracy,” Atiku said.

Atiku later proceeded to the palace of Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Ake, Abeokuta where he recalled his stint in Ogun State as a trained Customs Officer.

Although, Atiku did not disclose his political ambition at the palace of Alake  but the revered monarch prayed that God will be with him in his quest and grant him his wishes.

Meanwhile, the Gubernatorial hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Ladi Adebutu has called for a United PDP in Ogun State, adding that ” it is through Unity that the party can take over governance come 2023 in the state”

Hon Adebutu, who is celebrating his 60th birthday today, made the call while addressing the party members at the PDP Secretariat, Abeokuta.
