the Ogun State Security Network, also known as Amotekun, thwarted a robbery attempt in Akinale Town,Ewekoro Local Government Area, in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, a team of robbers attempted to rob a residence around 1:20 AM, shooting a 28-year-old man, Opeyemi Olusanya, in the upper region of his left limb. However, the swift response of Amotekun operatives from the Ewekoro Command foiled the robbery, forcing the thieves to flee into the nearby bush.
The Amotekun team recovered the robbers’ operational vehicle, a wine-colored Kia Cerato with registration number KRD 840 JS, belonging to Ariwoola Abiola Wasiu of Ifesowapo Estate, Adunbu, Itori.
The vehicle has been handed over to the Itori Division of the Nigeria Police, who are collaborating with Amotekun to investigate the robbery and track down the fleeing robbers.
The gunshot victim, Olusanya, was rushed to a private hospital in Obada-Oko for medical attention.
